A half-billion-dollar civil fraud penalty against Creepy Unkle Cankles has been thrown out by an appeals court because, sayeth the "judge", "it violates his 8th Amendment rights against excessive fines".

Look, it's simple Mr. Judge. If a crook steals a billion dollars he needs to be fined at least a billion and one dollars. Otherwise crime pays and we have no need of judges. Capiche'?

The case will now go to the New York State Supreme Court which, one would think, would be less likely to fold under pressure from Republican Mob tactics.

My experience with Shake Shack? Dismal? I tried it two times and the food was so poor and tasetless compared to other fast food establishments that I complained to corporate. They responded by giving me gift cards for more food.

The best use I could make of them was to level a table.
