The Fuel On the Hill
Did you know that, in the 1950s, one of the top items on the Republican Party platform was "strong unions". But then the Civil Rights Act came along and conservatives changed their horses midstream from economic to social, wagering instead on the immense pool of white voter unrest over imagined loss of their freedoms to Brown and Black folk. Sixty years of fomenting fear among white evangelicals later, topped by the cherry of a Kenyan Muslim in the White House, has lead us to a Russian tool with his ignorant, narcissistic paws all over the levers of government.
Sigh.
All Republicans had to do was stick to their guns and champion unions. But, no. Greed and power were more important than the Great Melting Pot.

(I wrote the following in 2008)
Why is food so expensive?
Because the price of oil is high.
Why is the price of oil so high?
Because the dollar is devalued.
Why is the dollar devalued?
Because we borrowed lots of money from China.
Why did we borrow money from China?
So we could afford to invade Iraq.
Why did we invade Iraq?
So that we could keep its oil off the market.
Why would we keep its oil off the market?
So that its price would go up.
Ah! So we'll use oil profits to pay off our debts with China and eventually bring food prices back to normal, right?
Uh, yeah, right.
