The Moebius Crisis

So how did the Todd Blanche hearing go? He didn't answer a lot of questions, which answered a lot of questions, if you know what I mean.

The following are quotes from Mr. Blanche which I have paraphrased for clarity and optimal snark...

"Yeah, Trump signed the law to release the Epstein Files and didn't release them. I mean, do you think he's crazy?"

"If the President wants to pardon people who tried to kill sitting Congressmen, who am I to judge?"

"I don't think Trump should get a $1.7 billion weaponization fund. But if he still wants it, hey, I'm there for him."

"I'm not just a friend of a rapist who was a friend of Jeffrey Epstein, I'm his lawyer. Uh, WAS his lawyer."

"Other men who Epstein trafficked women to? What do you mean by 'other men'? You mean other men were interested in raping little girls on his island? News to me."

"I had no idea that Tom Homan got a $50,000 bribe. I guess I was slathering my hair with Reagan's old "shoe polish" that day."

"You leave drunken, whoring, airplane-stealing Kash Patel alone!"

"Yes, Trump wrote on Truth Social that he wanted the DOJ to prosecute his enemies but, ya know, not in so many words."

"The DOJ is totally independent of the president, unless he WANTS me to make a Democrat's life a living Hell."

"Can someone break down your door, enter your home without a warrant and drag you into the street? Why do you ask?"

"There's a well-established standard of when government agents can fire their weapons into cars. I just don't care what they are at the moment."

"Yes, I authorized the transfer of Ghislaine Maxwell to a cushy low-security prison and gave her a puppy. Except now, come to think of it, I didn't."

"I have no idea who won the 2020 election. Nope, none at all. It's a complete mystery to me."

I was going to make a quick jest that Trump is the cyclosporiasis of presidents, spewing the equivalent of explosive diarrhea wherever he goes.

But then I remembered that Trump's sole purpose in office is to sow so much chaos that what's left of the news is largely unable to keep the public up to date on every new million-dollar grift.

And then one day people check the news and see that he's suddenly two billion dollars richer.

The next day more chaos erupts. Rinse and repeat.

As for the cyclospora that's currently causing American butts to clench in terror, it's just another part of Trump's intentional chaos as his chosen head of the Department of Health, RFK Jr., gutted the departments that monitor and track such parasites. Mr. Kennedy seemingly doesn't know, or care, where it came from, how to contain it, or who suffers next.

He's not inept, or ignorant. It's all just part of the grift.
