The Elephant Man
Trump" "I am not a human being! I am an animal!"

The Army is suddenly "out of money". (Those "Department of War" signs and Hegseth's make-up room must have cost more than we thought.) So they decided to cut training.
It's the Russian approach to its military ground forces. In other words: "Be all the cannon-fodder you can be."
The U.S. military used to be "Join us and get a free education and all the health care you can eat." Then the GOP said "screw education" and defunded the VA.

The screwworm is coming. (I advise you to go read more about this vile critter whose latin name, "hominivorax", translates to "man consumer".)
It was eradicated decades ago in North America and Mexico and has been controlled at or below the Panama border by the release of billions of radioactively-sterilized adults each year. This means of control was compromised during the recent Covid pandemic and now they've been discovered 60 miles from the U.S. border.
Far be it from me (ahem) to point fingers at the worst possible person to ever be in charge of the government but would it surprise you to learn that Trump cut finding to screwworm control in March of 2025? Or that he is allowing the import of Mexican cattle that President Biden wisely suspended in 2024 when its presence was detected?
Control of this pest is vital as it will negatively affect the U.S. cattle industry, the consumer price of beef, and the health of Americans.
Trump's meddling in the control of this pest is certainly not the sole reason for its sudden reappearance but his mishandling of the Covid pandemic, which gave the screwworm room to rove, clearly warrants considerable blame.

I heard that beets contain ingredients, like nitric oxide, that can help lower blood pressure, and I'm all for that. (Yes, I follow politics intently, therefore I have high blood pressure. Anyone surprised?)
So I bought a jar of beet juice this weekend and gave it a shot. What does it taste like, you might ask?
Sweet dirt.
Sweet, sugary, earthy, musty dirt.
I understand that there's no definitive study on whether beets can actually reduce blood pressure but, at the very least, I got to know what sweet, delicious dirt might taste like.
