Ms. Magoomba treated us to a Friday night concert by the new progressive conscience of America, troubadour extraodinaire, Jesse Welles. He entertained a sellout crowd with 90 minutes of songs about war, peace, and turtles and then came back for a 30-minute encore.

Afterwards we arrived at Ms. Magoomba's home to find her garbage disposal had been committing a very slow and very rusty dance of death, manifested by an oozing flood of unpleasant disposal fluids all over the kitchen floor.

The next morning we were up and off to the No King's rally in downtown Dallas. The crowd was large but nothing compared to cities like Boston, LA, or Chicago. This seeming lack of interest I blame on the lack of really large areas of public land in Dallas suitable for protests of this nature, leaving us with City Hall Plaza as the default location.

(This may a real problem for protest in future as Dallas real estate developers, who are the one's who actually rule the city, are eager to tear down the iconic, I.M. Pei-designed structure and replace it with another ginormous sports arena/casino. The locals are outraged by this idea but when the ridiculously rich get an idea like this in their heads.....)

In addition, downtown Dallas is a bit of ghost town on weekends as most worker bees flee to the 'burbs. Apartment living in Dallas is scant and expensive so there's not a lot of readily available locals to swell the ranks of the oppressed.

Afterward our patriotic duty was performed a new garbage disposal was installed and balance was restored to the kingdom.
