There are SO many games being played in Venezuela right now with Maduro serving as an an happy foci.

I hope everyone knows that, back in 2019, Trump and Putin were in a Secret Santa mood as they were planning to gift one another Ukraine and Venezuela, respectively. Putin was like "You get out of my backyard and I'll stay out of yours." Vlad was, of course, referring to that pesky Monroe Doctrine keeping him on the low-down in Venezuela and NATO breathing heavily across the border in Ukraine.

Unfortunately for Trump his military, a presumably functioning one in 2019, war-gamed removing Maduro forcibly and every result was a complete shit-show. But now the military's run by Pete Kegstand and so into the meat-grinder go the Venezuelan people.

Now I've heard it might cost as much as a trillion dollars to get the Venezuelan oil infrastructure up to Western standards and oil company pockets have been running rather lean lately with the worldwide glut of oil.

Which means something else might be at play here. Noted commentator and fabulous babe, Randi Rhodes, suggests that the people who control Trump may be using Venezuela's vast traunch of oil as a means to shift oil sales from the petrodollar to Trump crypto, which means a grift of brobdingnagian proportions.

But, you know, like we ever REALLY knew what the Iraq invasion was all about.
