It's not just a red flag that California's Senator Padilla was assaulted and arrested by Trump jackbooted asswipes, just for doing his job. It's a nuclear missile aimed at the heart of American Democracy and specifically at the Democratic Party.

Normal governmental standards are, at this point, broken.

No one on the Republican side of the governance aisle is going to fix this. The GOP has long since given up on this country. They're only in it for themselves. The only thing keeping them under control is the bond market.

I am not kidding.

So it's left up to us now, the millions of Americans who still believe in the future of this country. We have to impress upon the fascists in power, in great numbers, that they are wrong.

If you have any excuse not to show up at your nearest "No Kings" protest this weekend, discard it now. It's time to raise your voice, and your elbows, and start fighting back.

A word of advice to any marine in Los Angeles who might be foolish enough to follow Trump's orders and ignore the Constitution...

Remember the soldiers who tortured prisoners at Abu Ghreib prison back in 2003? They thought that bastard Donald Rumsfeld had given them the green light to abuse prisoners. Turns out, not so much. Twelve of them were eventually convicted.

A judge will decide on Monday just how much leeway Trump has to attack his own people with the U.S. military but I'm kinda betting the Constitution will have the final say.

The subject of today's 'toon is one that should be absurdly obvious to everyone.

It's clear to me, in this military-industrial-congressional-complex era that most wars in which the U.S. is involved, even tangentially, is just an excuse to clear out the federal warehouses of old, stale weaponry and give the death-mongers a profitable excuse to fill them right back up again with even shinier and deadlier goodies.

I mean, so what if innocents get caught in the crossfire (cough Gaza cough) America needs to keep its murder machine roaring 24/7. After all, the DP isn't gonna G itself.
