The Day After

Let me start today's Rant by asking if anyone follows Raging Pencils using its RSS feed and/or if anyone is having trouble with the damn thing.

Recent scuttlebutt has it that Trump may not employ his idiotic tariff's after all because:

A: He knew they wouldn't work.
B: He didn't know they wouldn't work.
C: The banks threatened to cut his nuts off if he tries it.
C: He's just plain full of shit.

There's little doubt Trump's mega-donors have informed him that placing tariff's on Canada's oil exports to the U.S., as an example, will result in higher prices on nearly everything in this country, meaning BIG trouble in the mid-terms.

That's probably why investors aren't currently leaping from penthouse windows and, in fact, seem to be taking the threat of tariffs in stride. Knowing Trump he'll probably enact a minor tariff on Chinese made barnacle scrapers and/or Canadian moose-antler wax just so Fox News can trumpet his magnificent triumph of economic derring-do.

Yeah, I could be wrong. We'll see in seven weeks.
