Bad Riddance.

"The difference between our decadence and the Russians' is that while theirs is brutal, ours is apathetic." - James Thurber

bush no-cakeAt Bush's final press conference on Monday only 35 reporters showed up, well short of capacity. I'm guessing there was more important news to cover that day, like that two-headed goat over at the Johnson farm.

Trying to save a little face the White House quickly ordered its interns to fill the extra seats and pad the standing-room only areas.

Showing his usual grace and aplomb the cheesy little quisling, his W-ness, neglected to call on Helen Thomas for a question.... again. May he rot in hell, the gutless wiener.

As he left the podium the press mostly yawned and headed for the buffet. I've posted a youtube video of those hilariously fitting few seconds below. I will cherish this moment always.

--------

As revealed in the recent Department of Justice report Bradley Schlozman, Karl Rove's protegee, succubus and part-time stand-in double, lied through his teeth to Congress when he said he had no idea that the Civil Rights Division of the DOJ was being packed with Republican operatives.

Lying to Congress is a serious offense, unless you work for the Bush administration. As you might expect no charges were filed. (Time will tell, though, heh-heh-heh.)

I only bring this up because of a Schlozman email that surfaced in which he referred to these new hires as "ideological comrades".

That's right, "comrades".

Pass the vodka, baby.

This is the final moments of Bush's last press conference, to which
the press replies "Finally!"

Okay, so I'm the last to see this. The above image is of the new cover
art for the Princess Bride, whose title reads correctly no matter
which way is up. This form of typography is called an ambigram.
