Yes,
these are real signs that someone is suffering
a stroke.
A fourth method is to ask them to stick
out their tongue. If it skews uncontrollably
left or right then you should call for
help right away.
That is all.

Last night, mere minutes after I
had posted this comic, I learned that Star
Trek's Nichelle
Nichols, the fabulous Uhura, had suffered a stroke.
So this isn't an exploitative gag, just one with
lousy timing.
I sincerely wish Ms. Nichols all the best and a speedy
recovery.
